The Aurora State Driver License office, located at 14391 E. 4th Ave. in Aurora will, offer full-service appointments for first-time applicants unable to demonstrate lawful presence in the U.S. seeking a driver license, identification card or instruction permit on June 1, 2019. The office currently accepts renewal appointments only.
Starting today, full-service appointments at the Aurora Driver License Office can be scheduled at dmv.colorado.gov or by phone at 303-205-2335. The Aurora office will offer 26 full-service and five renewal appointments each business day.
This change is being made to accommodate a higher demand for full-service appointments due to online renewal availability. Online renewal for these applicants began January 1, 2019 at mydmv.colorado.gov.
Other offices offering appointments for individuals unable to demonstrate lawful presence in the U.S. are:
- Colorado Springs - 2447 N. Union Blvd., Colorado Springs - 26 full-service appointments and 5 renewal appointments per day.
- Grand Junction - 222 S. 6th St., #111, Grand Junction - 26 full-service appointments and 5 renewal appointments per day.
- Westgate - 3265 S. Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood - 78 full-service appointments and 15 renewal appointments per day.
The Colorado Road and Community Safety Act, which went into effect August 2014, authorizes the issuance of a Colorado driver license, instruction permit or identification card to those individuals who either cannot demonstrate lawful presence in the U.S. or can only demonstrate temporary lawful presence in the U.S.,,
