Hazmat Endorsement Information
Prior to applying for or renewing a CDL license with a hazardous material endorsement, applicants must complete a background check application on-line or by phone. Click here to complete on-line or call 855-347-8371. (You cannot complete the application at the TSA fingerprint site.)
After the application is complete, visit a TSA fingerprint site to submit your fingerprints. The TSA agent will forward your application and fingerprints to TSA and the FBI. TSA then notifies the applicant and Motor Vehicle of the results (TSA will only notify Motor Vehicle of "Yes/Issue" or "No/Don't Issue"). If the TSA results are "Yes/Issue," the applicant may then obtain a hazardous material endorsement on the CDL. If a CDL holder wants to add the "H" endorsement for the first-time, they will need to complete Entry-Level Driver Training.
