Service restored after fiber optic cable repaired
September 18, 2019--LAKEWOOD, Colo. --All Colorado driver license offices are fully functional after the severed fiber optic cable was repaired Tuesday evening.
The Governor's Office of Information Technology identified the problem immediately and worked with the Department of Revenue to assist in restoring services after a Comcast fiber cut rendered the Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) unable to issue driver licenses, instruction permits and identification cards on Tuesday, September 17.
Coloradans can always utilize the DMV online services which are available at mydmv.colorado.gov. With the DMV's 35 online services, Coloradans can complete a driver license renewal, request a driving record and pay a citation.
The Department thanks Coloradans for their patience during the service outage.
