The kiosk will accept your payment and print your registration and license plate tabs on the spot!

If you’re a resident with a registered vehicle in a participating county, you may use any Colorado MV Express Kiosk in the state.

You can renew at a kiosk any time, starting in the month prior to your expiration month. By law, a late fee of $25 per month and back ownership taxes will be assessed if you renew after your grace period (the month following your date of expiration) has expired.

In addition to your renewal cost, there is a service fee for every vehicle renewed at the kiosk: $3.50 at kiosks in DMV locations and $4.50 at kiosks in all other locations (such as a grocery store). The same service fee applies for a duplicate/replacement registration or decal transaction. Additionally, there is a 2.3% fee to pay via credit or debit card, or a $.50 fee to pay via check. There is no additional charge for cash payments (where available). There is no charge to check a title status.

Exceptions

Credit and debit cards are accepted at all locations. Some locations also accept cash and checks. Cash will not be accepted if you are using an MV Express Kiosk outside of your county of residency. Only one method of payment is allowed per transaction.

If you live in a participating county, you can use a kiosk to renew personal automobiles, pickup trucks, motorcycles, motor homes, utility trailers and camper trailers.

You simply scan an approved document or type in the required information using the touchscreen. Follow the instructions to complete your transaction and pay the required taxes and fees. The machine will print your documents and a receipt on the spot.

Please wait at least two business days after getting an emissions test to renew at a MV Express Kiosk. This allows time for the kiosk to be updated electronically by testing facilities. The kiosk cannot accept paper proof. Your renewal postcard will indicate if you need proof of emissions.
