Update: Severed fiber optic cable prevents Colorado driver license offices from issuance of driver licenses, instruction permits and identification cards

September 17, 2019--LAKEWOOD, Colo. --A severed fiber optic cable is preventing Colorado driver license offices from issuing driver licenses, instruction permits and identification cards. The Colorado Office of Information Technology identified the problem immediately and, together with the Colorado Department of Revenue, they are assisting with efforts to restore services quickly.

In the meantime, the Department encourages Coloradans needing license services to utilize the online services which continue to be available at myDMV.Colorado.gov. Online, Coloradans can complete a driver license renewal, request a driving record, pay a citation or complete one of 35 additional services.

Please visit dmv.colorado.gov and Colorado Department of Revenue's social media pages (Facebook: @ColoradoRevenue, Twitter: @CO_Revenue) for updates, which will be posted as soon as they become available.

The Department thanks Coloradans for their patience.
