In Colorado, county motor vehicle offices work independently under their elected county clerks and recorders. Counties set their hours of operation, as well as local taxes and fees which is why costs for services vary from county to county.
Counties handle most title and registration transactions for personal vehicles. Unless you are using DMV online services or an MV Express Kiosk, you must visit your county motor vehicle office for vehicle services. Other counties’ motor vehicle offices will not be able to provide services.
Registration services for personal and on-highway vehicles are available at your county motor vehicle office, online at myDMV.Colorado.gov, in the myColorado™ app and at an MV Express Kiosks (if your county participates in the kiosk program).
