Registration
First-time vehicle registration transactions can be completed online through myDMV (Vehicle Services tab) or directly with your county motor vehicle office, once you receive your Title Complete notice from the county. Transactions completed online generally take 21 days to have the plates/tags/registration received via the USPS. Please visit your county if you cannot wait 21 days, or if your temporary tag is about to expire and you have not yet received your Title Complete notice. You could be subject to late fees with an expired temporary tag.
You may also title and register your vehicle while you're at the dealership.
To renew your expiring vehicle registration, you may:
ELECTRIC VEHICLE OWNERS, you are eligible to receive the electric vehicle (EV) license plate but this plate is currently unavailable online. If you would like the EV plate, please visit your county motor vehicle office. If you own an EV and would like a different plate, you are still required to obtain an EV decal at your county motor vehicle office. The cost of the EV decal is $0.25 while the EV license plate is $10.03.
