LAKEWOOD, Tuesday, July 9, 2024 -- The Colorado Division of Motor Vehicles is contacting Coloradans who have an appointment at a state driver license office today to reschedule their appointment or offer alternative services due to a technical issue affecting all state driver license offices.

All in-office DMV services at state offices are affected except written tests.

Driver license offices can perform written tests. If customers who take the written test return within 180 days, they can complete the driver license issuance process without retaking the test.

The DMV is also experiencing technical difficulties with the state’s credit card processing system. This outage has impacted customers' ability to make payments using credit cards at some county motor vehicle offices.

Currently, there is no timeline for when in-office services will be restored. The DMV will provide updates via its social media pages and DMV.Colorado.gov/locations.

Coloradans needing DMV services should use myDMV.Colorado.gov. Additionally, Coloradans can use MV Express Kiosks, which provide an easy and convenient option for Centennial State residents in participating counties to renew their vehicle registrations.

The DMV appreciates Coloradans' patience as the Division works with its partners to restore services.
