LAKEWOOD, July 23, 2024 -- The Colorado Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is pleased to announce the Gunnison Driver License Office (DLO) is fully open and ready to serve Coloradans with expanded hours.

Now, for the first time ever, the Gunnison DLO is now open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, with a daily closure from noon to 1 p.m. for lunch. Previously the DLO was closed on Mondays and Fridays.

The DMV has expanded the office’s hours and days of service after the first phase of repairs to the U.S. Highway 50 Blue Mesa Bridge was completed. The DMV had reduced the Gunnison DLO’s business hours after the closure of the bridge cut off a main travel route.

“These new hours will make it easier for residents to get essential DMV services,” said Gunnison DLO Manager Erica Jiron. “It’s part of our commitment to providing exceptional service while accommodating the diverse needs of our community.”

The Colorado DMV recognizes the inconvenience caused by the reduced hours during the bridge repairs and appreciates the community’s patience and understanding.

The DMV encourages Coloradans to use DMV online services or schedule an appointment online. For a complete list of Colorado driver license offices, visit DMV.Colorado.gov/driver-license-office-locations. For more information, visit the DMV website at www.DMV.Colorado.gov.
