DENVER - Tuesday, April 8, 2025 — The Colorado Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) hit the road—and the halls of the State Capitol—today to bring its services directly to the community. With DMV2GO stationed at Lincoln Veterans Memorial Park and DMV staff inside the Capitol, Coloradans had the opportunity to connect with DMV representatives, learn about key initiatives, and explore ways the agency is working to enhance accessibility and customer experience.
The event underscored the DMV’s commitment to providing innovative solutions that meet Coloradans where they are.
“The DMV is committed to making our services as accessible as possible, whether that means coming to the Capitol to educate the community or bringing DMV2GO to serve busy Coloradans where they are,” said DMV Director of Driver Services, Benjamin Mitchell. “We are proud to offer mobile services and share how we’re working to improve the customer experience for all Coloradans.”
Throughout the day, DMV2GO, the DMV’s mobile driver license office, provided a range of services, including first-time Colorado driver licenses and ID cards, out-of-state transfers, renewals, motor vehicle records, and reinstatements.
“We were excited for this opportunity to be at the State Capitol to serve those that live and work at the Capitol and downtown Denver while also bringing DMV services to those who work and live in downtown Denver,” said DMV2GO Program Manager Desiree Trostel. “DMV2GO is all about accessibility, and we’re proud to bring the DMV to the people—whether at the Capitol or in rural communities across the state.”
In addition, DMV2GO staff provided information on the importance of organ, eye, and tissue donation in partnership with Donor Alliance, encouraging Coloradans to register as donors.
DMV staff visit the State Capitol annually to discuss DMV programs and initiatives with state lawmakers and provide information on key DMV projects, fostering dialogue on how the DMV continues to innovate and improve customer service across Colorado.
