Upgraded platform empowers Coloradans to easily navigate driver and vehicle services from anywhere

DENVER — October 22, 2026 — The Colorado Department of Revenue (DOR) Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) today announced the official launch of its newly-redesigned website, dmv.colorado.gov. The updated digital platform offers Coloradans a modern, intuitive, and mobile-friendly experience designed to simplify access to critical driver and vehicle services across state and county channels.

Developed through a collaborative partnership between the DMV, the Colorado Digital Service team at the Governor’s Office of Information Technology (OIT), and the Statewide Internet Portal Authority (SIPA), the new platform follows a comprehensive year-long content overhaul. Informed by feedback from more than 114 Coloradans and DMV staff, the platform streamlines digital service delivery to help Coloradans find answers quickly and reduce unnecessary office visits.

"Our goal with this website modernization effort is centered entirely on customer experience," said DMV Senior Director Electra Bustle. "By transforming our digital service delivery based on direct feedback from Coloradans, we're ensuring residents know when they can skip the trip or arrive better prepared and enjoy a faster, more seamless experience whenever they interact with the DMV."

Core Enhancements & Highlights

  • User-Centric Landing Pages: Refreshed layouts feature intuitive design across primary sections, including Home, Driver/ID Services, Vehicle Services, Requirements, New to Colorado, and Appointments.
  • Simplified Navigation: Quickly locate relevant resources across state, county, and partner network channels.
  • Clear Appointment and Document Guidance: Clearer instructions ensure visitors know how to schedule an appointment and know what documentation to bring to their visit.
  • Interactive “Wizard” Guide: Step-by-step guidance for tasks like license renewals, ticket payments, vehicle registration, and reinstatement fees, simplifying complex requirements for quick, successful transactions.
  • All content available in Spanish: Simply use the automatic translator in the top-right corner and select “Spanish” to access all the content in your language.

The launch of the modernized website builds on a series of recent digital upgrades, such as the introduction of personalized customer portals on the e-services myDMV platform. In addition, the DMV has broadened online capabilities to include fee payments for written and road retests and expanded driver license renewal eligibility, enabling most residents to renew online up to two consecutive times before needing an in-person office visit.

These initiatives align directly with the DMV's core strategic goal of providing a seamless, integrated, and exceptional experience for every customer. For more information about Colorado DMV services or to explore the redesigned website, please visit dmv.colorado.gov.
